doc workshop

Educational programme intended for film professionals,
students of film academies, as well as all those who wish
to improve their knowledge and skills in making creative documentary
films or develop their documentaries with our tutors.

Interaction: Doc Workshop (I: DW) is an intensive, seven-day programme that allows participants to improve their knowledge and skills in making creative documentary films through lectures, panel discussions, film screenings and Q&As with authors, as well as to develop their own documentaries through consultations with tutors and sessions with other participants.

After a two-year break, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are now continuing with the realisation of our educational programme, which we launched in 2011, under the name the Interdoc - International Masterclass of Documentary Film. To date, 128 participants from 46 countries have attended our programme, with distinguished lecturers such as leading directors from Serbia and the region – Želimir Žilnik, Vladimir Perović, Dragan Elčić, Nebojša Slijepčević and Mladen Matičević.

The tenth edition, in addition to the change in the name of the programme (Interaction: Doc Workshop), also brings numerous novelties in the programme’s content. As before, within the series of lectures, 20 workshop participants will have the opportunity to meet our experts, excellent documentarians, and, together with them, discover various aspects of creative documentary film.

From this year, any of the participants who have documentary projects at any stage of development (in development, production or the rough cut stage), can apply for Doc in Progress. Six participants, whose projects will be selected for Doc in Progress, will have the opportunity to develop their documentaries through individual and group consultations with our tutors, as well as organised sessions with other workshop participants.

Also, during their stay in Požega, participants of I: DW can benefit from meeting and connecting with participants of other Interaction programmes (Interaction: Student Film Camp – I: SFC and Interaction: Short Docs Festival – I: SDF) through participation in joint programmes: Speed Meeting – short twenty-minute talks and Panel – gathering of documentarians in discussions and exchange of views on topics of importance to the profession, as well as authors and producers of documentary films. During their stay at the camp, participants have the opportunity to attend festival screenings (I: SDF) and participate in Q&As with authors.

Also, in order to engage our participants in networking in the best possible way, we pay special attention to pastime activities.

...

I: DW takes place in August in Požega (Serbia), at the same time as camp and festival, and programme participants can take part either with or without a project in development.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be awarded certificates of participation.

The participation fee in the programme is 630 EUR.
