My Uncle Tudor

Nanu Tudor
Olga Lucovnicova
Belgium, Hungary, Portugal | 2021 | 20 min

After 20 years of silence, filmmaker Olga Lucovnicova returns to the house of her childhood. In intimate close-ups the camera captures an idyllic scene that seems to belong to a different era - a place where sleeping beauties lie, spiders spin lacy veils and stomach-turning monsters come for dinner. Little by little the illusionary carefree world of several generations falls down under the weight of a disturbing dialogue, so casual and remorseless, in which the filmmaker confronts her Uncle Tudor, who is responsible for her trauma.
