DURING MID-AUGUST 34 YOUNG FILMMAKERS FROM 23 COUNTRIES WILL ARRIVE TO SERBIA
With the arrival of 15 participants and the Introductory workshop at the Cultural Centre of Belgrade on 14th August 2016, the 11th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2016” will officially begin and it will realised until the 31st August.
The participants divided into 3 crews, will shoot the documentaries on topic “Stories from the Museum” during their 7 day stay in Uzice, Ivanjica and Cacak. After the shooting, all the participants of Interaction 2016 will gather in Pozega on the 21st August, where 19 participants of the 6th International Documentary Masterclass “Interdoc 2016” will join them. Through lectures and screenings of the documentary films, ours renowned professors Mladen Maticevic and Dragan Elcic will share their knowledge and experience on the topic of Creative documentary film.
Starting from the 22nd August, during the “Interscreen” programme, lovers of documentary movies will have a chance to see documentaries made by the masterclass and the camp participants, as well as some of the national authors. Selected by the Film Center of Serbia, whose work will also be presented during the camp, films "The Roots of Evil" by Zelimir Gvardiol and “The Flood” by Jelena Jovcic will be shown. Also, along with the programme “Interscreen”, DOKSERBIA – Documentary Filmmakers of Serbia will be presented as well as “Battery Man“ documentary directed by Dusan Cavic i Dusan Saponja. The camp audience will get the chance to see “Caviar Connection" by Dragan Nikolic as well.
During their stay in Serbia, along with participating in the film productions, lectures and film screenings, the participants will learn more about the cultural and the historical heritage of western part of Serbia during their visits to Ovcar Kablar gorge and Drvengrad.
Films made during the camp will be premiered on the 30th August, 2016 i the Main Hall of the Belgrade Youth Center and in the partner towns, as well as countries from which participants come.
34 participants which are taking part in this year's camp and masterclass come from: The Czech Republic, The USA, Jordan, Finland, Ukraine, Greece, New Zealand, Costa Rica, The Republic of Niger, Bulgaria, Italy, Russia, Croatia, Mexico, Pakistan, Latvia, Hungary, Lebanon, The Philippines, UK, Denmark, India and Serbia.
The camp is organized by Independent Film Centre "Filmart" from Pozega and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, The Film Center Serbia, The City of Cacak, The City of Uzice, Erste Bank, as well as many other sponsors, partners and volunteers.
“MARY-GO-ROUND” BY LUKA POPADIC, SHOT IN THE INTERACTION CAMP, AWARDED THE BEST FILM IN LODZ
On the 12th of June 2016, at the closing ceremony of the International film festival of short film (International Boat od Culture) in Lodz (Poland) film “Marry-go-round” by Luka Popadic won an award for the best film.
The award of the audience was awarded to a film from Iran, “Mahu Va Man” by Babak Habibifara, while the special award of the jury was awarded to a film from Brazil, “A boneca e o silencio” by Carola Rodrigesa.
From the 6th to the 8th of June, there was a total of 28 film from 20 countries screened.
The award from Lodz is the 14th award given to films shot during Interaction that has been realized in the past 10 years. On these years, 63rd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film, the Gold plaque,for the best short film, was awarded to the film “Adornment” by Stefan Krasic. On the previous “Kustendorf” festival, Ana Videa, the participant of the camp from Romania. was awarded the “Vilco Filac” award for the best photography on the film “Mary-go-round”.
ANOTHER AWARD FOR THE FILM “RESTART “ON THIS YEAR’S BOSIFEST
At the closing ceremony of the 7th international film festival BOSIFEST, on Friday, June the 3rd, at the Belgrade Youth Center, film “Restart” by Dejan Petrovic won the award for the best screenplay. An Irish film “Retina” by Darko Dragicevic won the award for best directing. The jury (Nebojsa Bradic, Ivan Karl and Vladan Vukosavljevic) awarded a Spanish film, “Gabor” by Sebastiana Alfie, the best film of BOSIFEST.
From the 250 film that were applied, in the competition program, there were 22 films from Germany, Spain, Great Britain, USA, France, South Korea, Argentina, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Belgium, Ireland, Russia and Serbia. and apart from “Restart” there were two other domestic films, “Pogled zatvorenih ociju” by Dora Filipovic and “U medjuprostoru” by Masa Sarovic.

11th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2016” organized by the Independent Film Centre “Filmart” is going to be held from 12th to 29th August 2016 in Pozega (Serbia).
FILM "HAIL" SHOT DURING THE CAMP "INTERACTION 2015" ON THE GREEN FESTIVAL IN KOREA
Documentary film “Hail” by Ángel Linares from Venezuela, shot during the 10th ISFC “Interaction 2015” and produced by the Independent Film Center “Filmart” from Pozega, was screened ) on the Green Film Festival, which was held from the 6th until the 12th of May, 2016 in Seoul, Korea.
On this year’s Green Festival there were a total of 1300 applied films from all over the world, and 80 films were screened in two competition and 6 accompanying programs. Film “Hail” was screened in the official competition program, “Green Competition”, along with 9 feature and 10 short films. The award handed, “Green Panorama in Korea” went to “Defant 5”,the best short film in the international competition, by Heidi Lee Douglas, a director from Australia. The award for the best feature film, the Grand Prix of the festival, went to “How to change the world” by Jerry Rothvell, a director from England.
“Hail” was screened twice, on Saturday, May 7th at 19:30 in the “Sponge House” cinema, and Thursday, 12th of May at 10 a.m. in the Art cinema “Indie Space” in the center of Seoul. After the first screening, that caused great interest among the audience, there was a Q&A with Predrag Zivkovic, the executive producer, about the film, “Interaction” camp and “Interdoc” masterclass. The secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Mister Aleksandar Djordjevic and his wife also attended the screening, as well as missis Vesna Kazanovic, the wife of the Ambassador of Republic of Serbia. During the festival, contact were made with the young film artists from Korea, and the representatives of our Embassy were dealing with the possibilities of improvement the collaboration between the culture scenes of Serbia and Korea.
The selection of candidates for participation on this year's camp is in progress. Due to the large number of applications, the selection committee has not yet finished the selection of candidates.
The list of participants will be published until 27th May, instead of May 20th.

After “Interaction” was presented on the American University in Dubai within the 3rd International student film festival “Original Narrative”, and after “The ornament” won the Golden Plaque at the 63rd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film in Belgrade, films from “Interaction” continue their festival life all over the world.
Documentary film “Hail” by Ángel Linares from Venezuela, shot during the 10th ISFC “Interaction 2015” and produced by the Independent Film Center “Filmart” from Pozega, will be screened in the official selection (Green Competition) on the Green Film Festival, which will be held from the 6th until the 12th of May, 2016 in Seoul, Korea.
Documentary “Hail” shot on the territory of the town of Uzice. The main film characters are: Stanka Ristic, an old woman engaged in farming, living on the edge of Uzice, a town that she is protecting from hail, and Nemanja Pesterac , an employee of the Hydro Meteorological Centre which is located near the same small town in Western Serbia. Weather is the connecting link in their lives and they have a very unusual way to express their love of nature, the land and the people surrounding them. Film students from all over the word were members of this film crew: director - Ángel Linares form Venezuela, cinematographer - Runal Hattimattur from India, sound designer - Yuliana Volkova from Russia, editor - Nancy Fares from Egypt and production manager - Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, student of Academy of Art Belgrade. Local guide of the crew was Andjela Jevtovic from Uzice – student of Faculty of Drama Art Belgrade.
The Green Film Festival in Seoul is the largest environmental film festival of Asia and a fundamental reference for all the world. Predrag Zivkovic will be the guest of the 13th Green Film Festival, as a representative of the “Interaction” camp. He will be at the screening of the film “Hail” and will present the “Interaction” camp to the guests of the festival.
„ADORNMENT“, BY STEFAN KRASIC, STUDENT OF ACADEMY OF ART BELGRADE, SHOT DURING "INTERACTION", WAS PRONOUNCED THE BEST SHORT DOMESTIC DOCUMENTARY ON THE 63. FESTIVAL OF SHORT AND DOCUMENTARY FILM.
On Saturday, 26th of March 2016, on the official closing of the 63rd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film, Golden Plaque of Belgrade for the best Serbian film in the competition programme - short documentary, was awarded to Stefan Krasic for the film „Adornment“.
Film produced by the Independed Film Center "Filmart“, during the last year's International Student Film Camp "Interaction“ tells a story of two pairs of twins and their growing up in the Pecenkovic from Preljina near Cacak.
During the festival there was 78 films screened in the competition, and 31 in the reveal selection. Apart from Stefan's film, there were six more competing for the same prize, among others „Mary-go-round“, by Luka Popadic, a documentary also shot during the "Interaction".
TWO FILM SHOT DURING THE “INTERACTION” CAMP ARE AMONG THE 7 DOCUMENTARIES IN THE DOMESTIC COMPETING SELECTION OF THE 63RD BELGRADE FESTIVAL OF DOCUMENTARY AND SHOT FILM.
Documentary films “Mary-go-round” by Luka Popadic and “Adornment” by Stefan Krasic will be screened within the competition programme of the 63rd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film, on Monday, the 21st of March, 2016.
Apart from these two film, that were shot during the International student film camp “Interaction”, there will be five more screened within the selection of domestic short documentary film.
"Mary-go-round" (produced by IFC Filmart and LP Film) follows a vocal group named “Singing ladies”, a group of enthusiastic old ladies full of life, that share their everyday life with us, while the “Adornment” (produced by IFC FIlmart) is a documentary about the coming of age of two pairs of twins in the Pecenkovic family, located in Preljina.
During this year’s Belgrade festival of documentary and short film, which will be held from the 20th to the 26th of March, 2016 there will be 78 films screened within the competition programme, and 31 screened apart from it.

11th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2016” organized by the Independent Film Centre “Filmart” is going to be held from 14th to 31st August 2016 in Pozega (Serbia). During the 11th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2016”, 15 participants, divided into three crews will shoot three documentary films on a given subject. Along with the film production, the accompanying programmes will be organized: the “Interscreen“ programme, an excursion, sport and music activities, as well as the premiere of the films.
Your application will be taken into consideration if you:
study film production, directing, cinematography, sound design or editing
have taken part in production of at least one documentary film
speak English fluently
complete and submit the online application form
upload a film (provided that you participated in its production) on some of the online services (YouTube, Vimeo) and place the link in your online application form along with the password
