INTERACTION AND INTERDOC REPRESENTED ON THE „ORIGINAL NARRATIVE“ IN DUBAI

 

Student film camp “Interaction” and International masterclass “Interdoc” were represented to the participants of the 3rd International student film festival “Original Narrative”- on the American University in Dubai (AUD) on Monday, February the 8th, 2016.

After the screening of the films shoot during the camp ( "Adornment", “Marry-go-round and “Bitter joke”), there was presentation of the camp by Dejan Petrovic and Ana Andric on behalf of the organizers, as well as Roozbeh Kafi, and ex-participant of the camp, and now the professor on AUD.


Dejan Petrovic has, invited by the organizers, participated in the work of the jury, which selected a film in each of the following categories: short fiction, documentary and animated film. This year’s festival featured 50 films from all over the world.

DOCUMENTARY FILM “SENTENCED TO FREEDOM” BY DEJAN PETROVIC SUPPORTED ON THE OPEN COMPETITION BY FILM CENTER SERBIA

 

On December 1st, 2015 the management board of Film Center Serbia made a decision on the commission's proposal to participate in co-financing the documentary film “Sentenced to freedom” by Dejan Petrovic.

There were 47 applicants to the open competition for financing and co-financing short and medium length documentary projects in 2015. Film Center Serbia will support 7 documentaries- three short and 4 medium length documentary films.

NADJA LAPCEVIC, A MEMBER OF FILMART, ON A SYMPOSIUM REGARDING WOMEN’S RIGHTS HELD IN SKOPLJE

 

A member of Filmart was a participant on a symposium themed “Women’s rights through the prism of audiovisual arts” held in Skopje from the 19th until the 22nd of November, 2015. The participants of the symposium came from south-east and western Europe, and they are filmmakers, writers, activists, sociologists, and other specialist dealing with the subject of women’s rights.

As a part of the symposium, there were screenings of documentary films, and the whole event was captured on camera by a film crew from the University of audiovisual arts in Skopje, which was also the organizer of the event.

ONE MORE AWARD FOR THE FILM „MARY-GO-ROUND“ THIS YEAR

 

Documentary „Mary-go-round“ by Luka Popadic won the best director award on the Film ftont festival, that was held from the 28th until 31st of October, 2015 in Novi Sad for the 13th time.

After the awards on Kustendorf film festival and Srem film fest, film „Mary-go-round“, that was shot during last year’s „Interaction“, won it’s third award this year.

The award from Novi Sad is the third one in the last month given to films shot during last year’s camp.

THE FILM “SEPARATED”, SHOT DURING LAST YEAR’S INTERACTION,
WON SECOND PRIZE ON THE 20th INTERFER

 

On the 4th of October, the film “Separated” by Christo Tomy won the second prize on the 20th International festival of coverage and media- “Gold Nice”- INTERFER (in Apatin).

The film “Separated” shared the second prize with a coverage named “White topcoat colored blue” by Jovana Dzinic (“Prva” TV), while the first place went to Dragana Sotirovski for the “Road of hope” (Radio-Television of the Republic of Serbia), and the third place went to Branko Lazic for “Mercury head and vinkl” (Radio-Television of the Republic of Serbia),

Film “Separated”, shot during the 9th International student film camp „Interaction“, tels a story about a sublieutenant named Borko Nikitovic, who lost his life in the war during the ninetines , serving as a young guard officer.

On this year’s „INTERFER“, more than 300 coverages arrived in five categories . Apart from Serbia, they also came from Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovinia, Slovakia, France, Russia, USA, Australia, China, India etc.

FILM “MARY-GO-ROUND”, SHOT DURING THE 9TH INTERACTION,
WON A BRONZE LADYBUG ON SREM FILM FEST

 

Luka Popadic won a “Bronze ladybug” award for the film “Mary-go-round” on the 3rd International festival of touristic and ecological documentary film- “Srem film fest” (in Sremska Mitrovica) on Saturday, the 26th of September, 2015. The film is shot during the 9th International student film camp „Interaction“.

Apart from the film “Mary-go-round”, the awarded filmmakers are James Martin from Argentina for his film “Mile after mile” (“Gold ladybug” award), and Croatian director Boris Poljak for the film “Autofocus” (“Silver ladybug” prize),

The jury, consisted of David Fedele (Australia), Branko Vilus (Croatia) and Meri Bilic (Serbia) stated that they are awarding “Mary-go-round” „for it's fresh, close and unexpectred jurney through space behind the stage of a cultural event, an an invite to precieve the passing of life with hope and joy.“

On this year's Srem film fest, held from the 23rd until the 26th of September 2015, 58 films from 35 countires were screened.

The end of 10th “INTERACTION” and 5th “INTERDOC” was marked by the premieres of the films in Pozega and Belgrade

 

After the premiere in the Cultural Centre of Belgrade on Friday, 29th August, and the previous day in the Cultural Centre Pozega, the 10th International Student Film Camp "Interaction 2015" and the 5th International Documentary Masterclass "Interdoc 2015", in which participated 26 participants from 18 countries.


At the premiere in Pozega, Dejan Petrovic, the director and manager of IFC "Filmart", addressed the audience. The musical introduction with film themes was performed by Jelena Petrovic (violin) and Djordje Vasiljevic (accordion).


There were a screening of three film shot during a three-week stay at the camp in Cacak, Uzice and Pozega:

1. Film "Adornment" - director: Stefan Krasic (shot in Cacak)
2. Film "Walk on the Rail" - director: Atefeh Khadelmoreza (shot in Pozega)
3. Film "Hail" - director: Angel Linares (shot in Uzice)


At the same time, the 5th International Documentary Masterclass "Interdoc 2015" was held, where 11 students and film professionals participated and listened to the lectures concerning documentary film. The famous directors - Dragan Elcic and Mladen Maticevic have shared their experience with the participants. The participants of the masterclass and the camp have been given the certificates.

JUBILEE CELEBRATION - 10 YEARS OF THE "INTERACTION" CAMP
AND 5 YEARS OF "INTERDOC" MASTERCLASS

 

The International Student Film Camp "Interaction 2015" starts on the 12th of August, on the International youth day, with the arrival of 15 participants from different parts of the world. To mark the anniversary, the participants of this year’s Camp are, in addition to 10 students of film production, directing, cinematography, sound design and editing, also 5 previous participants of the Camp.

Participants, divided into three crews, will shoot material for their documentary films themed “Love” during their seven-day stay in Uzice, Cacak and Pozega. After the filming, on the 19th of August, all participants will gather in Pozega, where 14 participants of the 5th International Masterclass of documentary film “Interdoc 2015” will join them. Through lectures and projections of the films, our renowned professors Mladen Maticevic and Dragan Elcic will share their knowledge and experience on the topic of creative documentary film.

Participants, as well as the citizens of Pozega, will have the opportunity to find out more about the cultural heritage of other countries through accompanying programs, to meet each other better through various sport and music activities, but also to enjoy documentaries which will be screened within the “Interscreen” programme. Film lovers will be able to see films by our participants, but also by our renowned authors. Zelimir Zilnik’s latest film,  “Logbook_Serbistan“, about illegal immigrants and seekers of the asylum in Serbia will be shown within the “Interscreen” programme, as well as a film by Goran Stankovic- “In the dark” which won numerous awards.  A documentary film about Arsen Dedic, “My craft”, by Mladen Maticevic, will also be screened, accompanied with the film “We will be world champions”-a documentary by Ivica Vidanovic about the beginnings of the well-known basketball school in ex-Yugoslavia. Thanks to CILECT, an association that gathers the most remarked film and television schools in the world, this year there will also be screenings of the best documentaries shot in the previous year.

Films shot during the Camp will be premiered on the 27th of August in the Cultural Center of Pozega/Cinema hall, and the day after that in the hall of the Cultural Center of Belgrade.

This year’s 29 participants from the 19 countries will join a group of 219 participants who participated in the camp and masterclass until now. During the nine-year realisation of the camp, 35 documentary films were shot, among which 7 film won 8 awards in film festivals in India, Slovakia, Russia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia. On this year’s “Kustendorf” festival, film “Marry-go-round”, shot during last year’s camp, won the “Vilko Filac” award for the best photography.

Camp will be realised with the support of Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, the Municipality of Pozega, City of Cacak and Erste Bank, and organized bythe Independent Film Center "Filmart” in Pozega.

RESTАRT IN WASHINGTON

 

Film “Restart” was screened in Washington’s Avalon movie theatre on Thursday, 28th of May, 2015 at 8 p.m. The film was screened due to an invitation from The Orfelin Circle, which are the organizers of the 6th Festival of Serbian contemporary short and documentary film.

Apart from “Restart”, nine other documentaries and short fiction films were screened, all of them awarded at this year’s Belgrade festival of documentary and short film („Veče uz rаdio“ by Milos Tomic, „ In the dark“ by Gorаn Stаnkovic etc.).

FILM “RESTART” ON THE BELGRADE MANIFEST

 

On Sunday, May 24th 2015, Film “Restart” by Dejan Petrovic will be screened within the “Belgrade manifest”, the first big festival of manifestation, destination and degustation, in the upper part of the Kalemegdan fortress.

The festival will present Serbian cuisine, truism, music, dance, film art, etc. through 15 sections, from the 22nd until the 24th of May.

In the section “The movie cinema is working again”, 12 films awarded at this year’s festivals-FEST, The festival of author film, Palic film festival, Cinema city, Kids fest, Belgrade festival of documentary and short film, Festival of screenplay in Vrnjacka Banja and the Film festival in Herceg Novi will be screened, whilst the festivals are going to be presented before the screenings.

Apart from domestic production, that include the documentary “Restart”, and a feature film “No one’s child” by Vuk Rsumovic, film enthusiasts will get the chance to see film that were popular on domestic, but also festivals around the world: Leviathan (Andrey Zvyagintsev), Tourist (Ruben Estlund), White God (Kornel Mundruco), Miracles (Alice Rorvaher), Wolf (Nadgi Abu Novar), Winter sleep (Nuri Bilge Ceylan) and Wild tales (Damijan Shifron). The youngest visitors will also get the chance to enjoy kid’s films: Bella and Sebastian, Cat in Paris and Ernest and Celestin.

This festival is special due to the fact that the screenings are held outdoors, in the form of “Silent movies”.

RESTART ON THE DAYS OF CROATIAN FILM IN ZAGREB

 

Documentary film Restart, by Dejan Petrovic, was screened within one of the most important film happenings in Croatia, The days of Croatian film, on Friday, the 24th of April, 2015 at 5 p.m. in Kino Tuskanac, Zagreb. Apart from representing the current film production in Croatia, a selection of awarded films from the 62nd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film was screened in the accompanying program. Apart from Restart, documentaries Gadan sapun by Violeta Goldman, Lepi vazduhovi by Vladimir Perovic, Majstor by Predrag Bambic, and a short fiction film Crtani by Dusan Babic will be screened within this programme.

FILMART ALLOCATED MUNICIPAL RECOGNITION "7.APRIL"

 

On Tuesday, the 7th of April, at the Ceremony in the Cinema hall of the Cultural Centre of Pozega, and on the occasion celebrating the Day of the municipality of Pozega, the local government awarded the Independent Film Centre "Filmart" with a municipal recognition.

The local government has been awarding individuals and institutions for results and achievements in all areas of creativity, of importance for the advancement, development and promotion of Pozega with a municipal recognition since 2010.


Apart from “Filmart”, this year’s winners are also the Handball club “Sloga”, and individuals Ognjen Stanisavljevic, Djordje Cupovic and Dr. Nikola Milosavljevic. The recognition, in the form of a prize, was awarded to Fire fighting and rescue unit Pozega and the Club of martial and extreme sports "Soko”, while the winners of the recognition in the form of the charter are Pozega’s companies “Perform” and “Selo-grad”.

THE GOLDEN MEDAL OF BELGRADE FOR THE BEST SCREENPLAY OF THE 62ND BELGRADE FESTIVAL OF DOCUMENTARY AND SHORT FILM AWARDED TO DEJAN PETROVIC FOR THE FILM “RESTART”

 

On Sunday, March 29th 2015, with an official announcement and the prize-giving ceremony, the 62nd Belgrade festival of documentary and short film ended.

Dejan Petrovic won the Golden medal of Belgrade for the best screenplay. Apart from the best screenplay award, there were also awards given out for best directing, editing, cinematography, sound design, music and production. The Golden medal of Belgrade for the best documentary feature was awarded to Zelimir Zilnik (“Logbook Serbistan”), for the best medium length film to Goran Stankovic (“In the dark”) and for the best short documentary film to Zelimir Gvardiol (“The roots of evil”)

CALL FOR SUBMISSION

10th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2015” organized by the Independent Film Centre “Filmart” is going to be held from 12th to 29th August 2015 in Pozega (Serbia).

 

During the 10th International Student Film Camp “Interaction 2015”, 15 participants, divided into three crews will shoot three documentary films on a given subject. On the occasion of the celebration of the jubilee 10th ISFC “Interaction“ former participants of the camp will also participate in the camp (1 crew), apart from 10 students of production, directing, camera, sound design and editing (2 crews).

 

Along with the film production, the accompanying activities are: workshops, the “Interscreen“ programme, “Welcome event“ programme, multicultural programmes, Summer reading programme, the premiere of the films, an excursion, sport activities, concerts and parties.

 

The organizer provides:

  • board and lodging for the participant
  • equipment and materials for film production
  • transport Belgrade - Pozega - Belgrade

 

Participant pays for:

  • transport (to Belgrade and back)
  • international travel health insurance
  • getting a visa (if they need one to enter Serbia)

 

Competition eligibility

Your application will be taken into consideration if you:


for the students from film schools:

  • study film production, directing, cinematography, sound design or editing
  • have taken part in production of at least one documentary film

 

for former participants of the “Interaction” camp:

  • you previously participated in the „Interaction“ camp
  • have taken part in production of at least two documentary films

 

for all candidates:

  • speak English fluently
  • complete and submit the online application form
  • upload a film (provided that you participated in its production) on some of the online services (YouTube, Vimeo) and place the link in your online application form.

 

Applying for the competition

To apply for this competition you should complete and submit the online application form. The film should be uploaded on some of the online services (YouTube, Vimeo) and its link should be visible in the online application form. Your film must be available on the link given until the results of the competition have been announced-until the 20th of May, 2015.

 

The film must be:

  • documentary
  • translated to English
  • made during your studies (only for the students from film schools)

Selection of the candidates
After the application deadline, the selection jury will consider the applications, select the candidates and list the names of the participants. The students chosen to take part in this year’s Camp will be informed through e-mail by 20th May 2015 at the latest.
