The screenings of the films that were made during 3rd
International Student Film Camp “Interaction – Zlatibor 08” were held in
December with the aim of promoting the activities and results of the camp:

Members of the organization who are at the same time representatives of
Independent Film Centre “Filmart” (the organizer of the camp) were present
at the screenings.

The
Independent Film Centre “Filmart” presented “Interaction” – International
Student Film Camp within 28th International Festival VGIK that
was held in Moscow from 10-15 November. Besides the film screenings within
the competition programme of the Festival, there are also presentations of
some film schools and workshops.
The
most prestigious European film workshops were presented at this year’s
Festival – Berlinale Talent Campus (the camp that takes place during
the Berlin International Film Festival), Cinetrain (Russia) and
Interaction (Serbia). Dejan Petrovic, General Manager of the Independent
Film Centre “Filmart, presented the goals and activities of the
“Interaction” camp on behalf of the organization crew. After his
presentation Alexandra Marchenko, Elena Titova, Georgy Molodtsov and Nikita
Sutyrin – the students at VGIK spoke about
their experience as the participants of the previous “Interaction” camps.
There were screenings of the films that have been made during three
“Interaction” camps so far (CQ, Other Colours, Helium and Knot).
During the Festival the Independent Film Centre “Filmart” confirmed its
cooperation with VGIK, the oldest film school in the world and made
connections with numerous film institutions. It established cooperation with
ESTC Portugal (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema), Hong Kong Baptist
University,
School of Communication-Hong Kong, FAMU – Czech Republic, Janacek Academy of
Music and Performing Arts, Brno- Czech Republic, the Polish National Film,
Television and Theatre School –Poland and Iranian Documentary Filmmakers
Association-Iran.

Independent Film Centre “Filmart” organized the screening of the films made
during 3rd International Student Film Camp “Interaction –
Zlatibor 2008” at the Blue Room of the Ivanjica Cultural Centre.
The
members of the IFC “Filmart” organization team – Sladjana Varagic, Jelena
Cuslovic, Predrag Zivkovic, Stevica Jankovic and Dejan Petrovic were present
at the screening.

The films made during the “Interaction” film camp and produced by the
Independent Film Centre “Filmart” from Pozega were screened within the film
festival KODRA Cinema on Sunday, 14th September. The festival was
held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The KODRA Cinema film festival (Balkan and Black Sea Short Film Festival)
was organized by Kalamaria Municipality cultural organization (Thessaloniki)
and the best films made during 1st, 2nd and recently
finished 3rd “Interaction” were screened within the festival.
CQ
(Nikita Sutyrin), Knot (Darko Sokovic), Tomorrow when I was a
child (Aleksanda Urosevic), Other colours (Georgy Molodtsov) and
–He- Helium (Giuseppe Schettino) were the films that represented
“Interaction – Zlatibor” at the festival in Greece. Jelena Cuslovic and
Sladjana Varagic, members of “Interaction” team presented the project of the
International Student Film Camp “Interaction – Zlatibor” that has been
carried out three years in a row.

Documentary films “Helium” and “Little big
people” that were made during 3rd International Student Film Camp
“Interaction – Zlatibor 08” were screened at 2nd International
Festival of Documentary, Short and Animated Films “First Shot”.
45 documentary, animated and short feature and experimental films were
screened at the festival that was held from 8th to 11th
September in Sarajevo.

Documentary film “River of pain” won prize at the 5th
International Film Festival Balfest that was held from 1st to 3rd
September in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
“River of pain” was made in Uzice during 2nd International Film
Camp “Interaction – Zlatibor 07” and directed by Kaveh Gahreman from Iran.
One hundred documentary films were screened at this festival whose slogan
was “Art – Yes! Violence and terrorism – No!”.

The participants of the camp visited the Yugoslav Film Archive on 21st
August.
Later that day there was a closing workshop on the premises of the Faculty
of Arts, Academy of Arts BK run by the camp supervisor Dragan Elcic, M.A.
professor who discussed the films with the students, did some film analyses
with them and evaluated the whole project.
There was a closing ceremony of the camp at the Belgrade Cultural Centre on
6.30 pm that day. Nebojsa Popovic, manager of the film programme at the
Cultural Centre, welcomed the audience on behalf of the Centre.
Dejan Petrovic, general manager of the Independent Film Centre “Filmart”
introduced the participants of 3rd “Interaction”, as well as the
films they did during the camp and that were screened during the evening.

20 August, 2008
On Tuesday, 19th August, the premiere of the films made during
this year’s “Interaction” marked the ending of 3rd International
Student Film Camp “Interaction – Zlatibor 08”. The audience at the
Big
Hall of the Congress Centre “Serbia” could see No ending, Waiting
for Godot, Helium and Little big people – the films of
this year’s camp. Besides these four films, Film about the camp that
was done by Fernando Muñoz and William Whitwham, participants of the camp,
was also screened at the premiere. The audience enjoyed the film very much.
After stage 2 of the camp was over, the participants visited the
Ovcarsko-Kablarska Gorge on their way to Belgrade on 20th August.
The Tourist organization of Cacak, being one of the hosts, organized a visit
to several monasteries in this area and the Morava River rafting.

The programme was dedicated to Switzerland, Turkey,

Georgia yesterday. Switzerland was presented by Ivana Lalovic, student of
directing from Zürich, Bobbie Esra G. Pertan presented the culture of Turkey,
Elena Titova

Russia and Anna Cherkezishvili presented Georgia. The Embassies of
Switzerland and Turkey in Serbia took part in yesterday’s INTERtent
programme.

“Interaction - Zlatibor ‘08” was formally opened on International
Youth Day
After the material for the films was shot in the municipalities of Pozega,
Cacak, Uzice and Cajetina, the students gathered on Zlatibor. This year’s
camp was formally opened on 12th August, at 9pm, at the Big Hall
of the Congress Centre “Serbia”, HTT Palisad.
The
participants were welcomed by Dejan Petrovic, General Manager of the IFC “Filmart”.
He introduced the camp and this year's participants.
After the opening ceremony,
there was a screening of the best films made at the previous two film camps.
Students of production, directing, cinematography, sound design and editing
from 14 countries are going to finish their films in 7 days. The premiere of
the films is on Tuesday, 19th August. The Belgrade premiere is on
21st August at the Belgrade Cultural Centre.
Programme INTERscreen starts today at the TV room, “Palisad” Hotel and
finishes on Monday, 18th August.
Programme INTERtent starts today at Central Square on Zlatibor and the
participants will get the opportunity to present the country they are from.

Interaction has started!
After the film camp participants arrived in Belgrade, on 4th August there
was the introductory workshop at the Belgrade Cultural Centre. 20 students
of film production, directing, cinematography, sound design and editing from
14 countries (Mexico, Bulgaria, Italy, Russia, Canada, Romania, Macedonia,
Finland, Georgia, Turkey/Norway, Switzerland, Iran, Chile and Serbia) were
informed on the goals, activities and dynamics of the camp. Dejan Petrovic –
General Manager of the IFC “Filmart”, Sladjana Varagic – Programme
Coordinator and Predrag Zivkovic – Executive Producer spoke about the
project. Jelena Cuslovic acted as the workshop moderator.
After the first session of the workshop was over, Dragan Elcic M.A.
professor lectured on “Documentary film” and then gave some advice to the
participants. Dragan Elcic, the film directing supervisor, is going to help
the students and take part in film production stage – investigating the
area, searching for the topic, editing and postproduction. When the
lecture was finished, the participants set off for Cacak, Pozega, Uzice and
Zlatibor where they will stay from 5th to 10th of August shooting the
material for their films of the theme “The Young”.

Press
conference at the Belgrade Cultural Centre
On 31st July there was a press conference at the Belgrade Cultural Centre.
Vesna Danilovic - Events and Programmes Manager welcomed the journalists on
behalf of the Belgrade Cultural Centre and introduced the project they have
supported since its very start. Tanja Garcevic – the Ministry for Diaspora
Representative said how important it is for Serbian students at film schools
in diaspora to take part in such a camp. Nicolás Superby Aguirre – a student
of cinematography from Chile, expressed his satisfaction for participating
in “Interaction” film camp and his first impressions of Belgrade and
Serbia. Dejan Petrovic – General Manager of the camp addressed the
journalists on behalf of the organizers. The press conference was run by
Sladjana Vasiljevic – PR coordinator of the Independent Film Centre
“Filmart”

Press
conference at the Cacak
On 30th of July there was a press conference at the Cacak Cultural Centre.
This is 3rd time since the Municipality of Cacak started supporting the film
camp. Velimir Mitovic – Assistant to the Mayor spoke about the role of this
town in “Interaction” film camp, while Predrag Zivkovic – Executive Producer
and Dejan Petrovic – General Manager of the IFC “Filmart” spoke about the
project on behalf of the organizers.

Interaction on the Summer Art Film Fair - Cacak
As a part of Summer Art Film Fair that is
held in July and August, some of the films made during 1st and 2nd
Interaction Film Camp were screened on Tuesday, 29th July at
Nadezda Petrovic Gallery in Cacak. And the films are: “Inside the
circle”, “Up”, “Other colors”, “CQ”, “The knot” and “Tomorrow when I was a
child”. This Film Fair celebrates the 600th anniversary since
Cacak was first mentioned in some documents. Documentaries and feature films
that were made in Cacak, or the ones whose authors are people from Cacak are
screened within the Fair. Dusan Darijevic, thanks to whom this project was
started and Predrag Zivkovic, executive producer of Interaction Film Camp
spoke about the importance of this camp as one of the most important
cultural projects in Serbia.
On Tuesday, 5th August the
participants of this year’s camp who are going to shoot their film in Cacak
will have their own films screened within this Fim Fair. And the
participants are: Ivana Lalovic (Switzerland), Negar Behbahani (Iran), Esra
G. Pertan (Turkey / Norway), Kiril Sentevski (Macedonia) and Pedja
Ljubojevic (Serbia).

conference on Zlatibor
On 29th of July
there was a press conference regarding 3rd International Student Film Camp
“Interaction – Zlatibor ‘08” at the “Palisad” Hotel on Zlatibor.
Dejan Petrovic, General Manager of the Independent Film Centre “Filmart”,
introduced the participants and partners of this year’s “Interaction” to the
activities of the camp. Bojana Bozanic - Municipality of Cajetina PR,
Radovan Ristovic – a member of the Municipality council and Jovan Pavlovic –
Professional Adviser at the Tourist organization of Zlatibor spoke at the
conference. Slavica Bogdanovic welcomed the people present on behalf of the
“Palisad” Hotel – the project’s host and partner, as its representative. The

Turn around, move around! Interaction has started!
3rd
International Student Film Camp “Interaction – Zlatibor 08”
is going to be held on Zlatibor Mountain from 4th
to 21st August 2008 and organized by the Independent Film Centre
“Filmart”
from Pozega. 20 students of film production, directing, cinematography,
sound design and editing from 14 countries (Chile, Russia, Iran,
Switzerland, Georgia, Italy,
Finland, Macedonia, Norway, Bulgaria, Romania,
Mexico, Canada and Serbia) divided into 4 crews, are going to make 4 short
documentaries in municipalities of Cacak, Pozega, Uzice and Cajetina. The
participants of the camp are going to shoot films on the theme “The Young”
which is the theme of this year’s camp.
The project
is generally supported by
the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry for Diaspora
of the Republic of Serbia and Kultur Kontakt – Austria and also supported by
the Municipality of Cajetina, Municipality of Cacak and Municipality of
Uzice.
The films
made during the camp are going to be screened at the closing ceremony on 19th
August in the
Big Hall of the Congress Centre “Serbia”, Zlatibor and on 21st
August at the Belgrade Cultural Centre and in September in Pozega, Uzice and
Cacak, film academies in Serbia and abroad.
Documentaries, short feature and animated films made in Serbia and abroad
are going to be screened
within the programme “Interscreen”
that is going to take place at the “Palisad”
Hotel. The films produced by the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Faculty of Arts
Novi Sad, Academy of Arts BK and the films awarded at the CILECT film
festival are the part of this programme, as well
(CILECT - International
Association of Film and Television Schools).
In
cooperation with the cultural centres and embassies of the participating
countries, the participants will present the culture of the country they
come from within the programme “Intertent”.
The participants will present their countries through music,
film, dance, poetry, traditional food, handicrafts, etc. interacting with
the local community. The programme takes place at Central Square in the
centre of Zlatibor. |

The films made during 2nd “Interaction” were shown at the 14th
International festival of local TV broadcasters “Golden Beggar” that took
place from 18th to 21st June in Kosice, Slovakia.
International festival jury chose 36 documentaries from Europe, America and
Australia, among which there were also “River of pain”, Kaveh Ghahreman’s
film and “Tomorrow when I was a child”, directed by Aleksandra Urosevic.
These films were done at 2nd International Student Film Festival
“Interaction – Zlatibor 2007”. The films that were shown, as well as the
whole project of the film camp, attracted a lot of attention of the media
houses present, so not only were the films shown at the festival, but they
are also going to be shown on the programme of the National TV station of
Slovakia and network of regional TV stations throughout Europe. |

On Thursday, 17th
April on the premises of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia,
the contract for confinancing 3rd International Student Film Camp
“Interaction – Zlatibor 2008” was signed.
The
contract was signed by the Minister, Mr Voja Brajovic, and Dejan Petrovic, manager of the
Independent Film Centre “Filmart”.
As the general sponsor, this is the third time the Ministry of Culture
supports this project. |
